Bowling Ball Beach is located about 10 miles north of Gualala, right off of Hwy 1 in Northern CA. It is one very bizarre place and worth the stop (and the treacherous entry down a rickety ladder and across a kelp float.) I pulled out my IR camera along with the Nikon - the IR camera seemed to be a good fit for the alien-looking landscape.
