La Luz Trail - Albuquerque 2009
On the last day of our visit, Emily and I set out on the La Luz Trail, which climbs from the base of the Sandia Mountains all the way to the crest: 9 miles total, over 4000 ft. elevation gain. It is an incredible hike which winds through several different climate zones, from desert at the bottom, to semi-lush forests (we saw moss!) further up. On this trip there was beautiful fall color. Almost all of these photos are "HDR" (combination of several different exposures to deal with the high contrast in the scenes.) Memorable hike, and highly recommended! From the top we took the tram down.
